OpinionThe D.C. District Court dismissed the charges against Alaska Senator Ted Stevens for Brady violation. Additionally, the prosecutors were held in contempt. "For nearly 25 years I have told defendants appearing before me that in my courtroom they will receive a fair trial and that I will make sure of it. In nearly 25 years on the bench, I've never seen anything approaching the mishandling and misconduct that I've seen in this case...Again and again, both during and after the trial in this case, the Government was caught making false representations and not meeting its discovery obligations."
