OpinionFederal investigators held a criminal investigation against a company. Federal prosecutors used a grand jury to assist with such investigation on the same day that the court stayed pretrial discovery. The District Court stated that this legal tactic was nothing more than a "thinly veiled effort to circumvent" the court's orders to stay the case. The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed.
